Education Appreciation Luncheon returns to Grand Prairie Center next week; tickets on sale now

Aug 08, 2023

Tickets are on sale now for the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce’s Education Appreciation Luncheon. The annual event to honor and recognize school employees is on Thursday, Aug. 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Director of Programs for the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce Logan Molock said community members and school employees will attend the event as it returns to the Grand Prairie Center in Stuttgart for the first time since 2019.

“We will award education appreciation awards, which were peer and community nominated. We will award GREAT Grants (Grants for Education And Teachers). There will be some entertainment from the band and the cheerleaders. It is a fun event,” Molock said.

School employees will receive a free meal, and community members can purchase tickets.

“$15 covers your ticket and one staff member’s ticket,” Molock said.

The event was previously known as the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. Now, the luncheon is open to all school employees with Stuttgart Public Schools, St. John’s Lutheran School, Holy Rosary Catholic School, Grand Prairie Christian School, and Phillips Community College in Stuttgart.

The Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce is collecting prizes to distribute at the luncheon.

“We do a big door prize showcase at the end of the event. We are asking business owners or community members to donate door prizes for that,” Molock said. “If you would like us to pick it up from your business, we are happy to do that, too.”

The luncheon is possible thanks to the generosity of community sponsors.

“We are so grateful for our presenting sponsor, the Kiwanis Club of Stuttgart. We have lots of amazing supporting sponsors, including Baptist Health, Wilkerson Jewelers, Producers Rice Mill, Lennox, Riceland Foods, Right Fiber, Farmers and Merchants Bank, Noble Insurance Agency, First Electric, and Smith and Company Insurance,” Molock said.

To purchase tickets or donate door prizes, community members stop by the Chamber office at 507 S. Main St. or visit the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce website.
