2023 NBSL: Rice Mill MD receives Kebbi Fishers

The Managing Director of Wacot Rice Mills, Neeraj Kumar has assured management of Kebbi Beach Soccer Association and Kebbi Beach Soccer Club that the company would continue to support the state team even at the international competitions.

Kumar, who received the two time champions of Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) at the rice factory in Argungu, Kebbi State, said that the vision of the company is to ensure the team becomes pride of Kebbi State and a force to be reckoned with at the global stage.

While addressing the association’s management as well as team officials and players, the Managing Director noted that Beach Soccer is growing faster in Kebbi State and Nigeria, which has attracted a lot of attention across Africa and the world.

He said: “The League is now growing faster and we are really happy to be a partner in this success story. Promoting Sports has been part of what we are doing because Sports is part of life and we would continue to motivate you to conquer the league nationally and globally.

“We want you to progress from being the National Champions to World Champions so that you can become Pride of the Nation and a source of pride that people across the World will be proud of Kebbi State. We are here in Kebbi for you and once again, Congratulations to all of you for winning this trophy”.

In his remarks, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mr. Jayant Chantrastekar Jagtop who commended the team for being champion for a couple of years, said the company’s wishes were to see them participating at the global level.

“We want to see you participating at the International level, representing Nigeria. As already stated, Wacot Rice will always support Sports events, not only across the State but wherever sporting activities take place.

“Wherever you are at the International levels, Wacot Rice will be there to support you. We believe Sports is part of our culture and that is why we would continue to support Sporting activities. Our prayers and hope is to have the best players like Messi among you in the future,” he said.

While briefing the Management of the Company about achievements recorded by Beach Soccer in Kebbi State and Nigeria, President of ABSU and National Coordinator of NBSL, Mahmud Hadejia explained that the partnership between Wacot Rice Mill and Kebbi Fishers is really working, benefiting many people in the state through the sports sponsorship and in the business circle.

Hadejia also noted that both Wacot Rice Mill and Kebbi Beach Soccer have a lot of things in common especially year of the establishment of the team in 2017 which shared the same date of the commissioning of the company as well as the vision to create academies by both organisations for the upcoming rice growers and Beach Soccer kids growing up to achieve their dream.
